WHOLE FOODS MARKET
Newtown square, pa
With all the modern marvels that surround us, it can be difficult to remember a time when life truly was simpler, slower, more connected to nature. Yet there are places generously imbued with a sense of history, that invite pause and reflection. Newtown Township, founded more than three hundred years ago in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, is such a place. As you stroll up to Bartram’s Covered Bridge, it’s easy to daydream about days gone by, and all the traditions and values that connected the community. The design for this new Whole Foods Market coalesced around the mantra of simple philosophies. Inspired by the internal framework of that very bridge, we crafted an environmental design package around geometric stability and material simplicity. Even our illustrations, which reference Pennsylvania Dutch hex sign designs, are stripped down to the essentials and exist within geometric confines.
